How did I get here? How did this happen to me? I know most of us wonder about it sometimes. I sure do.
I look in the mirror and am so disgusted that I have gotten to this weight. I never started out as a fat kid. I was thin, had tons of energy. I took dance lessons twice a week. I wanted to be a ballet dancer. And in the day, I had the right body for it. That is why I just cannot believe my weight has gotten so out of control over the years.
I ate my way through every trial and tribulation in life, and there were lots of them. While food comforted me, it also took away my joy of life. I was just too tired. As a Christian, I was able to conquer lots of adverse situations, but never the weight issue. I thought I was destined to be fat forever. BUT, in early 2008, I found out Kaiser would pay for the surgery! I signed up for Kaiser's Options weight loss classes and have never doubted that I wanted surgery done.
This first week of Dec 08, I have my first appointment with Dr Suh and am praying for a positive outcome. Prayerfully he will agree to the surgery. I am hoping for my RNY to be February of 2009. I will keep you updated.
