Hi everyone! I got to come home yesterday. Thank god, because I was getting so restless. It was such a freeing experience when they unhooked me from the IV. I have to say that the pain was pretty bad the first 2 days, but I was on some happy drugs, so I guess it could have been worse. On the 3rd day after surgery (Sunday), they finally let me have clear liquids. The funny things was, I really did not want anything to drink. Still, I drank what I was required. Weird thing though....At the hospital the clear liquids they gave me were full of sugar: regular Jello, grape juice, apple juice. I commented to the doctor that I thought it was strange that the very first thing they give you to drink is something you have been told to stay away from after surgery. He sheepishly commented something about limited resources, blah blah blah! I told him it was not a huge deal, that I just thought it was ironic. Anyway, I am home and just wanted to thank my angel Wes for keeping you guys up-to-date and to thank Robin for visiting me in the hospital. The two of you are great. I promise to answer all of the encouraging emails I have received in the past few weeks when I am a little stronger and on less medication. Love to all!

Lori, Hope the visit with your mother-in-law went well! I know that everything will go well with your surgery tomorrow! My thoughts will be with you! I wish you could come to the support group meeting on Saturday, but you will definitely be on the "losing" side by the time we have the meeting in August. Love, Denise
