I had a failed gastric bypass in August, 2010. I was anethetized and cut upon, and when I woke up, they told me they couldn't do the operation because my liver was too large.

Subsequently, my weight went from 295 to 327. I am 5'3" and 58 years old.

It took me a long time, but now I am down to 274 and I have found a surgeon willing to do the surgery at this weight. He would still like me to lose a little more, and I am trying  -- still 10 days away from the surgery at this date.

I am planning on having a vertical sleeve this time.  I have really bad knees and would like to able to take NSAIDS.  Then, two knee replacements once I lose enough weight.

I have had a difficult time with all this emotionally but today I am in a better place.  I'm hopeful I will be able to deal with it all this time. I am more optimistic this time than the first time, but also older and concerned.

Thanks for your support in advance.
