Hi, i gotta type fast, don't know how long i can last infront of this puter. JUST GOT HOME yesterday from hospital. had my LAP RNY with Dr Marema may 16. OUCH. thats what i have to say. First 2 days were actually ok, kind of what i expected. Getting out of bed was a bitch!!!! but i walked, and drank, and breathed....i hired a private nurst to stay with me at night. family must leave at 9. glad i had her there as i was up all night both nights. also figured ialready spent 26,000 what was a few hundred more!!! BUT THEN THE REAL PAIN STARTED. I started to feel enormous pain in the scar under my tube on the left side. i told one of the DR's it feels like abnormal pain. he looked and said all is well. but i kept having fevers and white blood cell count was up. They wouldn't let me go home, and it was getting so bad i couldnt walk. had to have a cat scan, hurt soooooo much getting on that table, had to drink the barium (lets not even discuss this part)So results came back negative so they sent me home at 6pm. I could barely walk into my house the pain was so intense. I got over that after a bit. called the Dr he said to come back in. I said i was there 2 days and you did nothing for tghe pain. I did not want to go back in it was so un comfortable in the hopsital. so my fever went down, i slept good in my own bed, this AM went to Dr offie to get drained....and hopefully am on my way to recovery. more to come. Robin, I'm writing this as you are crossing over to your new life after WLS. I'm sure you're going to do fantastic. You can't help it because you have one heck of an angel on your side (Ellen H). I'm right behind you with my surgery date coming up on June 25th. I'll meet you on "the other side" with our soon to be "skinny" and especially "healthy" body. My angelette, Robyn, should be undergoing her life changing WLS as I type this. As you read this, please say a prayer for her and post a good thought to her surgery page. I will post an update on her condition as soon I hear the good news from her husband. CONGRATULATIONS, Robyn!!
