Regained Weight, Now what?

Oct 24, 2017

So here it is 2017 and I am back up to 196. This is the most I weighed since I has my sugery in February 2002. I guess it was around 2 and 1/2 years ago that I noticed my weight start to go up but I didnt think anything of it because until then It had been easy to lose it if I gained a few pounds. This time that wasnt the case. I put on a few pounds every month since and have gone from 135 to 196. When I 1st had my surgery I weighed a whopping 267 and over the next 4 years was on the wildest roller coaster ride of my life. With in 9 months post op I had lost nearly 100 pounds and was as thrilled as I could be. However in my 10th month I was informed I had gotten a hernia on my incesion line and had to have another surgery to correct it and thought it had been but 2 months later learned that the patch used was not big enough so the hernia broke through and I had to under go a 2nd hernia repair. That made 3 signifigent surgerys in a matter of 10 months. Needless to say I became addiciated to pain meds and from there on it was one wild ride. With in those 4 years I had 3 surgerys, got addiciated to pain meds, got divorced, lost my job and lost so much weight I was down to 96 pounds at my lowest. Then in 2006 I met my new husband and we got married and I had a son who is now 10. After I met my husband my life was semi normal again and my weight got back up to 135 and stayed there even after having my son. From 2006 until the end of 2014 I was 135 give or take a few pounds. When I look in the mirrow now and see the FAT me again I am not at all pleased. Having this surgery I thought would change my life for the better when in fact it did the exact oppisate. Yes I lost weight but so fast that I had alot of extra skin and no money to have surgery to lose it so Ihid it with clothing. Everytime someone would tell me how AMAZIMG I looked I would think to myself, " Yea, you should see me naked". The only good think I see in putting this weight back on is now if I can lose it on my own, Ill do it at a slower pace and maybe the flabby skin wont be so out of control but wo knows. I am looking in to having some kind of revision procedure because I can not lose this weight I have gained and I refuse to let myself get over 200. I am 47 years old and when I was younger I wanted to lose the weight so I could interact with my young children, now Its because carring this extra weight is much harder for me because I do not have the energy I did 15 years ago. I have a Drs appt on Nov 7th with a Different Surgeon than the one who did my 1st surgery and am hopeful he can help me. Otherwise I do not know where Ill go from there. I will post again when I have more to share... God Bless.
