Greetings! My name is Robin, and here are my numbers: 21, 5'6", 280, 45.2, and 16. It seems like my life is made up of numbers... especially since I started my journey towards weight loss surgery. My head starts spinning when I start rattling off these numbers. Age? 21. Height? 5'6". Weight? 280 lbs. BMI? 45.2. Number of years you've been overweight? 16.
I have been over-weight for more than three-quarters of my life, and it shows. I was diagnosed with high blood pressure and "borderline" diabetes when I was 17. But this is not who I am....
I am a wife who is entirely devoted to her loving husband. I am a fantastic cook (at least that's what said husband says). I am a vocalist, a pianist, a realist, and sometimes a sex addict. I currently work at my local hospital, which keeps money in the bank, food in the fridge, and my stress level way up there. One day I hope to be a successful psychologist with an equally successful home office. But more than anything in the whole wide world.... I want to be a mom.
That's why I am pursuing bariatric surgery: I want to be there when my kids grow up.
