I'm feeling a little better today even though I had a rough night. Having a recliner to sleep in would have been better but I don't have one. Bill has been wonderful taking care of me.

Today is the big day. I'm off to get ready!

One more day until my surgery and if I can get rid of this cold I'd feel much better about everything!

I had my stress test today and my heart is fine. I got my cardiac clearence.

Today at 7:30 I had my postop upper GI series then at 10:00 I had my postop blood draw and EKG. Well the EKG came up abnormal so I had to go to Dr. Steinberg's office while Kathy found a cardiologist that would see me today too. I got a 3:00 fit in with Dr. Shu at Atlanta Heart Specialists and they were great. My heart function is normal but I still have to have a stress test tomorow or Monday whenever the insurance approves it. Except to stop for lunch we were (my husband Bill and I) in doctor's offices all day. To top that off I have a nasty cold but Dr. Shu gave me a Z-Pak so that will help the cold thank goodness. My surgery is still scheduled for September 9th.

Six days to go!

One week to go until my surgery and it can't get here fast enough for me!

We had a great Labor Day yesterday. There were 10 of us counting me and Bill. Diana, Paula, Amber, Crystal, Balin, Amy, Shaunte, and Jordyn. We cooked burgers and hotdogs on the grill and had lemon and key lime pie for desert. Everyone had a good time.

Last night at 11:00 my stepson Jake called and was at our front door and wanted in. I thought he and his girlfriend had had a fight and he needed to spend the night. I sent Bill to let him in and a few minutes later Jake knocked on my bedroom door. I opened it and you’ll never guess…there stood Shaunte and Jordyn!  My sweet baby granddaughter and her mom. I had not seen them since April and before that it had been a year since I had seen them. They are moving from Japan to Texas and the got to stop over here and surprise me and they get to stay until September 3^rd. I can’t believe everyone kept it from me for a surprise. Shaunte said she thought I was going to have a heart attack when I saw them because I just took a deep breath and held it I was so shocked. This is so wonderful I have my sweet grandbaby with me. She is so pretty and smart. She is sleeping just now, jet lag… it’s a 13 hour flight over here and she is bushed and her time is messed all up.

I have my preop date it's September 4th. This is the last thing I have to do before my surgery on the 9th. I can't believe this is happening so fast but I'm happy it is.

I had my last appointment with Dr. Steinberg today before my surgery. I had to sign many contracts and he went over the surgery one more time. He gave me preop instructions too. Time is getting shorter and I can't wait.
