My friend Christine gave me a perm today. After the shock wears off I'll post a new picture. She is a great friend to help me out before my surgery.

I had my nutritian seminar today with the dietitian. It was really informative and one more thing done that had to be done before surgery. I learned my protein requirements for my height 5'3" and many other things. Ms. Stacy Smith RD/LD was the dietitian guiding us. She was very nice and answered any questions anyone had. She is very good at what she does.

I used to wear my hair in a curly perm but my girlfriend who did my hair moved to Tampa. She has moved back and is going to do my hair again this weekend or next. I'm happy about that. I like my long braid but my hair is so fine and thin it looks like I don't have any hardly. I'll put up a picture of my hair permed.

I'm so excited I have my surgery date and it's September 9th!

Today is the 10th anniversary of my husband Bill and my first kiss. He brought me a dozen red roses and took the day off to spend with me. He's a special guy.

I have my initial appointment date with Dr. Steinberg. It's August 8th at 3:30. I'm so excited!

The group consultation was great. I will make my initial appointment with Dr. Steinberg on Thursday and then I'm on my way.

This afternoon is my group consultation with Dr. Steinberg. This is the first step he requires in getting the gastric bypass I want. This is the beginning of a wonderful journey to a new me for sure! My husband Bill is taking off work early in order to go there to be with me. He is excited too!

I'm really getting impatient and still have a long way to go.

My husband Bill and I go to the group consultation on July 29th. This is the first step. We went to this consultation two years ago and then tried to work with my hunband's company to get them to add WLS to theie policy but we have had no luck so far. I've decided to use some of my IRA money because I want to have a better quality of life now. I want to enjoy getting older and what's to say I'll make it there with my health as it is. That is why we've decided on using retirement money for the gastric bypass now. After the group consultation on July 29th I will get an appointment with Dr. Steinberg one-on-one and hopefully after the preop, psychological, dietitary, and pulmonary screenings my surgery can be scheduled in about three weeks they said. I'm on the fast track I feel and can't wait. I'll make all these appointments in one day if I can. Wish me luck!
