I am meeting with my doctor this week to discuss the gastric bypass. I've struggled for many years with my weight, and have now reached the point where I know I can't do it on my own, as it certainly hasn't worked in the past. I'm now 60 years old, and have reached the point where my mobility is really affected. My knees are shot, with no cartiledge left. Knee replacement, in both knees eventually, but the orthopedic doctor said he wouldn't do it until I lost at least 100 pounds. I just need to take the next steps toward the full committment to my surgery. I need encouragement from those in similar situations as I make these next decisions.
