AFAN: Aid for AIDS of Nevada.
But it helps every chapter as well. Besides Obesity, Aids is what our children of this generation is faced with. How many of us know at least 1 person suffering with thia disease, or how many have watched someone you know die of this disease. 1 was too many.
It scares me to death to think my boys, my loves, are at risk. They say 1 in 5 people are infected. So what do you think the chances are that we might have to one day deal with this in our lives?
It would kill me to think that if my son had to deal with any of these diseases, that there was not enough research to find a cure or at least a mangable treatment.
We walk for Obesity, we walk for cancer, we walk for Asthma, and we Walk for Aids. We do volunteering and witnesws first head, what all these diseases do. It breaks my heart to watch babies and children die, as well as any one else.
Please show your support, by donating a few bucks to this cause. If everyone gives a little, it adds up!
Here is more info on AFAN, as well as a link to my donation site.We are walking with Penn and Teller this year. I am really excited. This is going to be the best year yet!!
AFAN is getting ready for the AIDS WALK LAS VEGAS 2008. Help us in the fight against HIV/AIDS here in southern Nevada. Join thousands of people on April 20, 2008 as we take to the streets to support those living with this disease. Together we can make a difference.
AFAN is Nevada's oldest and largest AIDS service organization. Providing more than 24 years of service to our community.

And the wait was due to:
Mar 17, 2008
The transcriptionist being out for the last couple of weeks. So they are back logged on writting Dr. Crookes reports. Epsie says it will be done this week, and it does have a "rush" on it because I have everything they need.
The thought that I am so close to the Ds, is almost bone shiverring. I am not nervous, but I am not anxious either. I am calm, but curious to what realm of reality will it process into my own mind. I have spent so many years chasing the "dream", at one shot to become healthy on my terms. I have become the very thing I have chased the most, CHANGE.
I am the CHANGE.
I think it to be indescribable to me. What do I have left if my dreams are now a "reality"? Will I qester to become more? I don't even know if I "feel" anything, but I can describe "numb".
How weird is that?
How strange is this?
What now after the chase of the "dream" is nothing more then a fox be hunted down, my horse on a hot sunday afternoon, and the carcus is just to left there to baked in the evening sky? Do you just lie there? How much more can I dream? Is ANYTHING really possible? Or is it an ecubus of the mind that holds your inner "self" at bay with the thought of failure creeping in your darkest thought's? I don't have all the answer's. I am not sure if I want to know all the answer's. The only thing I have ever known is to fight. Fight for all my being, and take nothing less then what I want. It was a learned talent that I have had to practice from a young age.
So, for all who reads, and fight along side me in this great battle, I will call life. No matter where you are in the game, if it means that much to you, NEVER, EVER, GIVE UP!
Take no prisnors, take no SHIT. And as long as you know it will not be easy.
It will not be cute or pretty,
It will be a struggle, somewhere along the way.
If you are willing to accept those terms, and push forward, then it is my belief, among all things,
You can accomplish it!
From Tami, I mean, TIGGER.... (thanks)

"If you don't achieve your dreams, you still get a lot by trying for them...Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want."
"When you're doing a bad job, and no one points it out to you, that's when they've given up on you."
"The brick walls that are in our way are there for a reason. They're not there to keep us out. They are there to give us a way to show how much we want it."
"You better decide early on if you're a Tigger or an Eeyore. Tiggers are energetic, they're optimistic. They're curious. They're enthusiastic. And they have fun. Never, ever underestimate the importance of having fun.
"If you want to achieve your dreams, you better work and play well with others, and that means you better learn to live with integrity. Simple advice...that you'll find hard to follow... just tell the truth. Second thing, when you screw up...apologise. A good apology has three parts. "I'm sorry." "It was my fault." "How do I make it right?"
"We all have people that we don't like, that've done things we don't like, and what I have found is that no one is pure evil. If you wait long enough, they will show you their good side. You can't make them do it in a hurry, but you can be patient."
"Gratitude is a very simple thing, and it's a very powerful thing."
"I don't think that complaining and whining really solves the problem...You can choose to take your finite time and energy and effort, and you can spend it complaining, or you can spend it playing the game *hard*, which is probably going to be more helpful to you in the longrun."
"If you lead your life the right way, the Karma will take care of itself. The dreams will come to you. If you live properly, the dreams will come to you.

OK.. So this is the way it is..
Mar 03, 2008
Standard stay in hospital, with out complications, 4 days. Total number of days I need to stay close to his office, 10 total. He said after the 10th day, we are out of the woods on any leakage.
We all know aftercare is crutical, ofcourse. So he made sure I was committed to aftercare as I am for pursuing the surgery itself. I am. I told him I was willing to go to Ohio, to Rita Anderson, because she was so great of a Dr. and go through her program. So L.A. was a sinch on my part, to travel back and forth. See, I did it again today. No problem.
He is not requiring me to lose weight. Anything more I can lose will only be a help. He knows the struggle I have be through, and does not want to torture me.He really is caring... I am so IMPRESSED with him and staff so far. The hospital it's self, OMG!@ USC is like a 5 star luxury suite for the rich and famous, (ok, I know L.A., hello!) But it is a C.O.E. + 5 more platnum stars..
I am x hausted.
I have posted all I can tonight.
Hopefully, Tomorrow will be a "good news!" day. Read the post below for all info...
Dr.Crookes
Mar 03, 2008
I just got back from Cailfornia, and all is well.
Dr. Crookes is very good.
Answered all my questions. Told me what to realistically expect from all surgeries, as he does them all.
I have all my tests completed and all that Mary, his nurse needed was the full heart report. So, Dr. Ismail is to fax over the report, either it was done already, or will be done tomorrow. After that I get to be submitted!! YAY!! I really cannot believe how well and smooth everything went. Boy, was I ever the red headed step child when it came to insurance relationships, lol..
I have never been treated better. United Health Care is so great!
Well, I am really drained, as I have been driving since 3:30 a.m. this morning. So I will close for now...
~X~
Ready? OK!
Mar 01, 2008
I have to say last week worked me up and out. I went to get breething test down, and then results read next day, that was the 21 and the 22 of Feb. Then on the 27th, I went to the heart dr. So, I did it in 2 parts over 3 days just to make sure I got it in time for Monday, March 3rd for Dr. Crookes... So I got nuked and did my echo and ekg and resting test on the 27th, then I did the actual stress test on the 28th, they ran me 9 minutes on the tred mill, 85%, taget heart rate was 161, blood pressurwe at the highest stress was 166/82. Girl cannot complain. Outt of everything I DO have, High Blood pressure is NOT one of them. So, on the 29th, i had to have the results read to me.... OK....
MY HEART IS SUPER DUPER HEALTHY!!!!!!!
I am SO excited over this.
My lungs are 100% funtional level, and no predisposition to PVD. Or embulism. I am SO happy over this fact too! So I do not have an increased risk over a normal person of dying on the table or afterwards from surgery. I am even steven with the rest of the population. ( Finally, somethign I am equal to, lol) Anyway..SO YAY!!!!!!!
Now, I have my handy dandy little medical file with all my paperwork in it and ready to go travel to CA to see Dr. Crookes. I have about 30 questions so far for him. Anytime I have any questions, I right them down in my notebook. So I feel confident I will be just SUPER fine.
And SO, after this little consult, I hope that within the week Fabiola will be submiting to the insurance. My nurse, Verra Miller from UHC, is all excited for me. So cannot wait to get me approved. So has been calling every week, on time, to talk to me about my health.
I really cannot ask for a better insurance company! (Thank You Lord!)
So, finally things are going where they need to be.
I will update on the consult when I return.
I had a lovely meeting with everyone!
Feb 23, 2008
It just makes me that more happier to have the DS Like what Sandy said, makes it that more real...
Just 8 more days til my consult...
Got the breathing test done, and the results are perfect, nothing is wrong or cause of concern. I have the go ahead from the Pulmacoligist himself.. Next week on the 27th, it is the stress test.
Then only thing I found out is that I won't get the test results back for 2 weeks, so that will delay my submission for a little while.. I have been waiting forever and a day, so another few weeks won't kill me, will it?
Being this close to the reality of this surgery being here, I only hope not, lol..
Well, I just started a new job outside the home, my family memebers are driving me nuts, most of DH, but everything at home is getting to me. When this happens, I just pick up a job outside the house, kinda of a mental vacation from home.. When I went for orientation today, everyone thought I was just a little too happy to be there.lol.. I am now doing political polling for Senator Harry Reid. Kinda cool, and very set my own hours, so none commital, LOVE IT, it has nothing to do with sex... lol......
Ok, well I really am looking forward to my next chapter in my adventurious story called life...
