Honestly I have no idea what to tell you about me and "my story". Other than this ...like many I have battled my weight for several years. This year though has been the toughest in a long time. I have had thyroid problems since I was sixteen...however this year my hypothyroidism turned chronic and I gained more than 40 lbs in just 4 months (this added to my already overweight self is not helping my health). Because of my thyroid being chronic it makes losing weight near to impossible...as if it wasn't already hard enough! I've been researching gastric bypass for more than 4 years now, and have finally made my decision that this is my only alternative at this point. I need help in this weight loss journey...I can no longer do it on my own. It took a great deal of self awareness to make this decision I believe. I know what I can do and what I can't. And I definatly know that this surgery will only help me. My surgery is scheduled for 7/25/11...less than a week away now and I am super excited and beyond ready.
