I had RNY Gastric Bypass on May 10,2004. It was a pretty easy decision to make after all of the attempts of trying to lose weight on my own. It was a bit difficult the first few months after having surgery. They tell you it's not an easy adjustment, but they can't really tell you how hard it will be. I can't tell you how many times I cried because I just wanted to eat food. I was tired of drinking stuff all the time. I wouldn't change a thing though. I'd do it all over again. I got pregnant in December of '04 (but I didn't know it). I didn't find out I was pregnant until April of '05. I had gone to my OB/GYN for what I (and she) thought were other problems. Then I get that phone call from the nurse a few days later saying I'm pregnant. I was a bit worried having gone throught the first trimester and not knowing anything, but once I had that first ultrasound a week later, my fears went away. It was a pretty easy pregnancy, no complications, and I only gained 9 pounds (people hated me for that...lol). Delivery was pretty darn fast. It only lasted 2 1/2 hours. She is my little angel and I'm so happy she's here. BIG age difference between her and my older two...my daughter Kayla is 13 and my son Josh is 11. In any case, since surgery, I have lost 140 pounds. I feel better, I look better, and I'm just so darned tickled I can wear a size 13/14 again.
