Hello Tracey - <b>Congratulations</b> on your upcoming surgery date!   You'll find the changes that follow, nothing short of a miracle. My humble advice?  Walk as much as possible after surgery.  As your body begins to heal make sure to get in your protein, even if it means plugging your nose and chugging back the protein drinks in baby [pouch] gulps.  Vitamins need to be chopped, minced or crushed... whatever it takes to get them in daily, no exceptions, YOU are worth it.   Also, let's not forget your new best(est) friend, water.  It is SO important to get your minimum 64 oz in daily. One final thing, remember to <b>CELEBRATE</b> all the special moments along the way, big or small.  Too many people focus only on the <i>number</i>, ie. pounds lost.  There are so many "moments" to look forward to and embrace, don't let any of them slip by.   Enjoy your new healthier life, you've more then earned it!!   <i>"The key to happiness is dreams, the key to success is making those dreams come true"</i>  Hugs and smiles -

June 20, 2003, I had my first consultation and felt very good about the information I came away with and the help the FNP provided. July 9, 2003, I had my appointment with my psychologist and I am supposed to be on stage 5 diet which is the diet you follow (supposedly for life). It consists of 6 ounces of protein per day, 1 starch, 1/2 cup of fruit and 1/2 cup of veggies as well as 48 ounces of fluids and 16 ounces of skim or 1% milk per day. I haven't done very well with following this because it feels like too little food right now. I am eating healthier but just a little more proportioned than that. I came to Obesityhelp.com today, July 11, 2003, to help me over a rough patch I am feeling this morning with giving up the caffeine and feeling like a failure in not being able to eat such a little amount of food. It will get better now. I feel better after having read people's posts on here.
