I just want to update everyone on Vicky's progress. She has finally made in to a regular room (room 305) Which means alot of things..... She can have vistors... She can have calls.... And she can come home wed, christmas eve, if she goes home with the IV.....which she is more than willing to do. Yea!!...send her a message of support

I got to see Vicky today. She looks much better, and shes able to talk. I was just really happy to talk to her, just like ol times. She told me that the doc told her it wasnt because of anything she ate, for whatever reason her bowl intestines just "Died" She had about 18 ft of intestine and now she has 7-8 ft. Doc said it "shouldnt" affect her weight loss. I just hope she will be home by christmas.....

Vicky has been moved to PCU (Progressive care Unit), out of ICU. Yea!!!! I called, she could talk, barely, couldnt understand her very well, but she talked. I cant wait to see her today!!!!

Here is an update on Vicky from her husband.... Hello Everyone, this is Vicky's husband, I want to inform you that she is definitely doing much better, yesterday (12-9-03) she was taken off the respirator and she is recovery at an accelerated rate. Today, she may even get to come out of ICU and get a regular room, I have not spoken with Dr. Coates, but I am certain she will be coming home in the very near future. I want to thank all of you for the support, the prayers, the words of encouragement that you provided to Vicky and my family. I am truly excited to send out this message. It has been almost three weeks since I even had a conversation with Vicky, and the boys will get to see Mom today. The nurses and staff at ICU Memorial have been very helpful (except for one that was yelling at her). As soon as I find out what room she is going to be at, I will post. Vicky~I'm so glad that you are doing better!!! Sounds like you will be off of the ventilator soon!! I was up on Thanksgiving to see you and I fought with the nurse till they let me in! I only got to stand at the door and talk with the nurse but I could tell that you were in good hands. You had a very nice nurse that day!!! Anyway I will be praying for you to be home on Christmas!!
