Hello Everyone, I'm on the other side and home from the hospital! Everything went well and I'm well on my way to recovery. The third day was the worst and since I've been home it's hard to find a way to sit/lay, but they say when I get the staples and drain out, everything changes. Looking forward to next Wednesday for that! Thank you Dawn D and Darene for the calls at the hospital, they were greatly appreciated! Then to come home and find the great updates posted here, how encouraging! Thank you to all of those that prayed for a safe surgery and healthy, speedy recovery. God Bless and good luck to those having had the surgery or those thinking about it!

Hi everyone, well, I just wanted to let you know that I spoke with Darlene today. the surgery went well (record timing for the doc) and she sounds FANTASTIC! I was relieved to hear that she wasn't in a great amount of pain - other than when she tried to get up of course. She's presently enjoying her ice chips and when I asked her if she was even hungy she just said "nope!". Well, I'm jealous! lol Hopefully she'll get to go home in the next day or so. I give her so much credit for taking control of her situation and for being so brave by choosing the surgery. She inspires me and I love her like a sister. YOU GO GIRL!

I just talked to Darlene's mom at the hospital and she is out of surgery and doing fine.
