To My Dear Kate~~~~I wanted to be the first one to say WELCOME TO THE OTHER SIDE!!! I am sitting here thinking of you, I am sure you are in surgery right now or just about through! Remember to walk, breath deep and cough. I can't wait to see you back on the boards to tell us how you are. God be with you. LOVE & PEACE

Hi Kate~ Not sure if you're able to sleep right now. It's 10 p.m. on the west coast and after reading your posts the last couple of weeks, I know the panic you feel. I haven't been through WLS , yet, but I know what its like the night before a surgery. I've had two C-sections and more times than not, it's the panic thats worse than the actual surgical event. Sure, there is pain. But you will be well taken care of. Try to relax and dream of the day when all your hard work and sacrifice will pay off. Of the day when you'll be able to where whatever suits your mood. And of the day when you will feel so wonderful because you've taken control of your body and, hence, your life. Let those thoughts calm you before and after surgery. It will be done before you know it and you'll be on the losing side with so many :) God bless you and don't worry...be happy. ~Hugs~

Okay Kate take a deep breath and relax. You're almost to the other side. You will be in my prayers. I hope you have an uneventful surgery and a quick recovery. It's normal to be nervous but hang in there.

October 15th. Dear Kate: There's no medicine like hope, and this surgery has brought to you that 'medicine of hope.' This ability to hope allows us to face the trials of daily life. It reminds us that no matter what happens, we will prevail. No one need be a hopeless victim; few situations are completely without remedy. With hope we can change a potential tragedy into an achievement. If the situation won't change, we can change to meet the situation. For those who believe, hope does, indeed, spring eternal. The hope you've placed in yourself, your surgeon, and this tool of wls will indeed come true for you. Sincerely, Lori Ann Lap-RNY on August 20, 2002.
