Try the Blue Bunny yogurt. Also, you have to check the ingredients list and see where the sugar comes from. If the first 5 ingredients listed don't contain anything like "sugar, high fructose corn syrup, honey, etc.", then the sugars might be natural milk sugars, and you might be able to tolerate them. If you have any doubts, ask your nutritionist. Good luck!

Jennifer. Yogurt is a great snack and has some protien. Cottage cheese too if you like it. I eat tons of both with no ill effects. Yogurt has helped me I eat one for breakfast daily. They do make a chewable lactose tablet and I had some here just in case I became intolerant of milk products but luckily I do fine without it. Hope this helps. Jamie

I tried emailing you but couldn't get it to go through for some reason. Anyways, I'm just a pre-op so I'm not actually experienced yet, but I had my nutritional class this past weekend and the nutritionist suggested sugar free/fat free plain yogurt and then add your own fruit pieces to it as well as some splenda for sweetening. It's a little more work, but you have more control of your sugar intake. I hope this helped!

Hi all. I had my surgery on June 11 with another great lady on this board (Hi Paula!). I'm home now and doing as well as can be expected. I am still sore and not sleeping very well. My surgery went VERY well, and I am so very grateful to Dr. Murphy doing such a good job. The first few days were bad, lots of pain and nausea, but I got out of the hospital on Sunday, and every day has been getting better. I gained 14 lbs of fluid in the hospital and didn't lose it till my post op appt, so it will be another week before I know the status of my real weight loss. Can't tolerate anything to drink, only ice, how funny is that? I will post more later.

Angel here flying in for a report on Jennifer. Her surgery was at 11:30 am today at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego. Once in recovery she was in a lot of pain and wanted pain medication but she kept falling asleep so they told her once she could stay awake they would give her some and they did and she felt sooooooooooooo much better. Dr. Murphy was really impressed with Jennifer due to the fact he could see she has been taking the protein drink because her muscles and organs were in excellent condition when he opened her up. All in all she is doing great and will get up later for her walk. Jennifer would like to thank all of you for your wonderful support.

"If you think you are beaten, you are; If you think you dare not, you don't; If you'd like to win, but think you'll lose, you're lost. For out in the world we find success begins with a person's faith; It's all in the state of mind. Life's battle don't always go to the stronger or faster hand; They go to the one who trusts in God and always thinks ‘I can.’"
