I am the single Mom of two beautiful girls ages 6 and 3. I have always been overweight. I put on alot of weight after leaving the Army in the 90s and in my late 20's and 30's it just kept accumulating. No matter how hard i exercised or what diet I was on , I continued to gain. Two pregnancies later, I became super obese and later morbidly obese. I waited to have children, so I'm an older Mom too. I 'll be 45 in 2010. My reasons for being on this site are like many others. I am here looking 4 support and guidance.
My health insurance is with the VA Hospital and they do not cover the surgery. I am a self pay patient.It has been hell trying to save the money with two kids. I have gone thru the VA system and tried to get surgery but after all the testing and all was said and done they claimed they did not have the funding. So I have been let down before and I refuse to let anything stop me this time around.
