From the first moment we met Dr. Brader, he carried an air of knowledge and experience of the procedures. Even though he was operating earier that day, he took his time to explain the pros and cons of both the lap band and the RNY, and the reasons to have them done open or laproscopically. He is very serious about his job - so much that he postponed my surgery when I gained 5 lbs from the consultation (as he states, his complications are low because he sticks to these guidelines.) I did have a couple of issues with the Barix office staff (especially with some departments not returning phone calls), but once you are in his hands (literally) you are in the best hands out there. After surgery, he stops in to speak with you directly at least once a day. I could not be happier with Dr. Brader and I am glad he was my surgeon.

I think that Dr. Brader is the best. I had my first consult with another doctor and was told that he only did the open procedure so I th\en called toset up an appointment with Dr. Brader. He was very nice and answered all my questions. I felt very safe putting myself in his hands for my surgety. I amnow about 3 months out and he is always very encouraging. I couldn't have picked a better dotor. I had a Lap RNY on October 24, 2006.

After I went to my consultation with Dr. Brader, I walked out of there knowing that he was a caring person. I have never met another doctor like him. He truly cares about each and every person he operates on. He took all the time that I needed to explain anything that I still had unanswered. Of course, most of the questions I had were already answered during his group session. He is very experienced in his field, and you can definitely tell. He is absolutely the best!

My first impression of Dr. Brader was excellent. He exudes an air of competence, honesty, and confidence. He spent plently of time with me during my consult, even though I was the last of a group of 12.rnrnI have not talked to him since the consult, though I did deal with the staff and internist during my pre-surgery testing. That process was very encouraging. Each person answered all of my many questions. They were especially good about ensuring that I would not have breathing problems on the day of surgery.rnrnDuring that visit, I had a lengthy session with a registered dietician. I left with a thick notebook and a feeling that I would have plenty of individual support.rnrnI also recommend the support group sponsored by Barix.rnrnSIX MONTHS AFTER SURGERY:rnrnI'm thrilled with my choice of surgeon. Clearly, his experience and skill had an awful lot to do with my lack of complications and my weight loss success.rnrnFrankly, I have not spent a lot of time talking to him, because I have had no complications. Each follow up visit was short, because we had nothing much to discuss. But he does seem to be a very nice guy who cares very much about the success and health of his patients.rnrnI would recommend him to anyone.rnrnI know that OH.com would like us to list at least one area of improvement, so that the review is not just a puff piece, but after thinking about it for ten minutes, I just cannot think of anything to say. Obviously, like most people, I've only ever had this one bariatric surgery experience, but I just don't know how it could have been better.rnrnrn

Dr. Brader is so dearly sweet. Straightforward and knows exactly what he's doing. Everytime I go back and visit for protein and he's around, he throws a genuine smile at me and says hello. He's not in his own little world; he recognizes and acknowledges you. A+ surgeon who followed my arthritic comfort need so I wouldn't wake up with sore shoulder (as in previous unrelated surgery) being in same position for hours. The pre-admission testing nurse Pat Y.'s confidence and knowledge go above and beyond. The nurses upstairs in recovery are amazing.. they know exactly what they're doing - even of the most personal issues humans go through during a medical procedure. You really get spoiled in Barix with Dr. Brader and his staff. Thank God!

I could'nt be happier with Dr. Brader and the staff at Barix clinics.

My first impression of Dr. Brader was that he was very calm. He spoke slowly and explaiend the procedure. He didn't appear as if he was rushing. When I met with him at the 2 week post-op vist, his demeanor was the same.rnrnMy only complaint about his office staff is that they take forever to return phone calls. In a couple of instances they didn't return the calls at all. That is very frustrating.rnrnI would definitely recommend Dr. Brader. He addressed the benefits and risks of surgery. I am definitely pleased with him.

First impression: He was friendly,Very knowledgable,Very professional, Never felt rushed. TOP NOTCH DOC! Staff and clinic were a A++++++ in all areas.Patients of Dr.Brader should know how lucky they are to find him and know that it does NOT get any better then him unless you can have your higher power do your wls. lol As his training as neuro trauma surgeon makes his insight invaluable. The before & aftercare is secound to none TOP NOTCH! The larg note book they give you has almost EVERYTHING you may want to know in it! The risk was very well addressed. I would rate him just under GOD!!!!!Surgical competence and bedside manner must go hand and hand for me and he had both.

He explained the entire surgery procedure extensively. I had a Lap. Route en Y. I was out of the hospital and walking around no problem after 2 days. I can go back to work whenever! No restrictions except no lifting over 30 pds for 2 weeks and no driving while on painkillers. He is a great surgeon and is always on call if needed. I reccommend him for sure! rnrnAftercare is extremely important and is stressed and certain intervals. While in the hospital, the nursing staff was awesome and so caring/attentive! A resp. therapist was waking you up for breathing excercises every 2 hours! The staff was always getting you to walk and making sure pain was under control. I had a HORRIBLE reaction to moraphine and demerol. (constant dry heaving) I was taken off the drip and my med's were changed according to me ability to tolerate them. Now I am fine! ALso social workers were in as well as the nutritionists! The experience and Dr. made a scary surgery into a great experience!

Dr Brader was great. He answered all of my many questions at the 1 on 1 at the seminar. He is encourage now almost 9 months out from surgery. He is more of a cheer leader for me than I am. I would recomend him to anyone. Both bedside and skill are great.
