My 1st impression of Dr. M. was that he was very assuring. He accepted me for who I was. He didn't scold me and make feel like I was a failure. He was very open and honest about the procedure. Always stressing that this is a "tool". His office staff is always courteous and professional. Even when you call during their most busy hours, they never make you feel like you're bothering them. They answer your questions and concerns with care. After care is VERY important to him. He visited me before I left the hospital. He didn't send a nurse or office staff. He made sure I was fine before & after surgery. He lets you know upfront the risks of the procedure, and sets VERY realistic expectations. If you don't follow his pre-surgery guidelines, he will not perform the surgery! I love that! He's NEVER lost a patient and that's VERY important! He is EXCELLENT!! I'm so HAPPY with him, and am so glad that God led me to him!! Surgical competence and bedside manner go hand in hand! You're not just a number with him! He truly cares and will tell you if he's pleased with you and equally displeased if you're not doing what you're supposed to! I HIGHLY recommend Dr. M.!! He's a ROCKSTAR!!!

I am very happy to have had Dr. Mailapur as my surgeon. He is always straight forward and honest with you and he is extremely cautious of your health before, during and after surgery. He is always kind, always smiling. He lets you know exactly what you are getting into and lets you know that it is not a fix all....it is a tool for you to use to help you attain your goals. I am just past the 1 month post surgery mark and I have lost a total of 49 pounds. I am very happy with this decision, I can walk again just after 49 pounds gone. By the time I hit my goal I will be running!!!

On September 23, 2013, I had the Sleeve Bariatric surgery, and already feeling fantastic and looking marvelous! I have lost 40 lbs. in 2 weeks and 4 days. As to date, my medication has been reduced to half. My goal is to be off all insulin and medications for the rest of my life, which Dr. Mailapur's has prolonged greatly.

Six days Post-Op visit with Dr. Mailapur, I asked, "Dr. Mailapur did you do surgery on me? I can't even tell that I had surgery, I feel great". All visits to your office has been genially professional and I received excellent care. I came with apprehension and left with total gratification. Wonderful surgeon. Very detail oriented and professional. He requires extensive education regarding the surgery, diet and nutrition before the surgery. He emphasizes that the surgery is a tool, but the weight loss occurs through the commitment of the individual. It is his belief that the individual must adhere to strict guidelines involving exercise and diet. His office staff is friendly. Mailapur stresses the dangers of surgery in all of his pre operative appointments. He has a good bedside manner, but I really appreciate his surgical skill. I am looking forward to reducing my medical issues and eliminating medications.

Dr.Mailapur is by far the best surgeon I've ever met in my life! I am 20 years old & been overweight my entire life. I had the VSG in April. Dr.Mailapur is nice & thorough in explaining everything to you before & after surgery. He & his staff go above & beyond to make sure everything is taken care of & they truly care about their patients. There is nothing I would change about Dr.Mailapur or my experience with him as my surgeon. He emphasizes aftercare through the whole process & makes sure his patients know bariatric surgery is a "tool" not a magic surgery to make you skinny. He has a very structured aftercare program with detailed guidelines to follow to ensure your success. All risks of surgery were addressed in his seminars, in our bariatric guide, & by talking to you one on one in your office visits with him. Overall I would rate Dr.Mailapur as an outstanding doctor! I am so glad he did my surgery & would recommend him to anyone! I am so thankful for him & for him performing the surgery & giving me a fresh start at life. Just had my 3 month post-op appointment with Dr. Mailapur and I have lost 110 pounds! I'm at 58% of my goal. Dr. Mailapur and his team have been incredible every step of the way. Could not be happier with the results. They are have been so nice and helpful and never make me feel like I'm a nuisance.
