New Me: 140 lbs (size 8)
Old Me: 279 lbs (size 24)
This is one of the best things I've ever done with my life. I now can eat and drink anything. But I have sense (so far) to know to watch it. I'm on a low carbohydrate eating plan, and make sure I eat something about every 3-4 hours (primarily peanuts, leftover chicken, string cheese) and I have a dessert daily. Yes, chocolates, etc. Before having the surgery, I was on a lo-carbo diet and used concepts from different diets (Suzanne Somers, North Slimdown, Atkins) so it is somewhat easy for me to adjust to this eating plan. I strongly recommend you change your lifestyle of eating habits before surgery. The other piece of success: don't become obsessed with not only eating but thinking about the surgery and what will change and the whole thing. I mean, I told myself to just shut up and do it. I do talk now & then about it, but I'm living my life free of obsessions now. I am so blessed to have finally lost all this weight and the icing on the cake (excuse the pun) is that I can enjoy food and finally enjoy dessert. I recommend this surgery to everyone. God bless!
