Hi AMOS friends! After trying the hospital several times, I finally got a hold of Karen's daughter Ashley. Karen was sleeping comfortably and is doing just fine!! She was up walking a little bit today, and plans to be walking much more tomorrow! WHOO HOO!! You did it girl! You're finally safe and sound on the "other side" waiting for me! I will call her tomorrow to check in on her and give everyone an update. Please wish Karen your very best! ~Heidi

Hi all! Karen Burt is having her surgery this morning! I called the hospital at about 10:15am and was told that she was still in surgery. I will call early afternoon, to check on her status! Please stop by her page to wish her well, and keep her in your prayers. ~Heidi

Hi Karen, hang in there. After tomarrow your new life will begin. Some day I will be there with you. I pray for you and your family will get through this with as much ease as posible. You will show that dumb a$$ Dr. that you will eat your way out of not haveing to see him again. My pcp is not supportive either. She says it will fail for me also. They can all go you know where. Hello My AMOS friends, 5 days and counting June 15th , HERE I COME!!! Went thru preop testing Thurs. and Friday. Praying all tests register a GO AHEAD. Saw Dr. a month ago, he had put me on a 1200 calorie diet and appetite suppressants. Didn't take or follow, was because sugar was elevated. Told him I couldn't follow. Doesn't he know I'm having last meals? Told me the procedure wouldn't work , because I would eat thru my staples. I told him YES IT WOULD, I WOULD SURPRISE HIM. My preteen kiddo's and Hubby will be with me at hospital at 5.30 Friday morning. - After Alan knows I am fine and in a room , he will take 2 of them to camp and come back. Ashley will spend the night possibly with me, She's my little Angel. Will be 14 in August. Adopted at age 7, Blond hair , blue eyes , and Born just for us. I was having surgical fertility issues when she was conceived. and if I had of had another child, would have been born when she was. I think she is truly a gift from GOD. and Her little brother also. They are 13 months apart. She took a long time in bonding, because of age and having 3-4 foster moms , but FINALLY NOW I AM HER MOM.WE LOVE THEM VERY MUCH. OH YA, if ya'll can come to my surgery page and SEND ME OFF. Will be at Mobile Infirmary, Mobile, AL. Pray that I WILL SURPRISE THAT DOCTOR!!!!!! I LOVE YA'LL.KAREN Haven't posted since Memorial Day, but have read daily. Kids out of school and trying to spend time with them. AND doing some fun things.
