Donald, Congratulations on your surgery. I just had to comment on the 'interesting' dreams. When I had my gall bladder surgery, I was given demerol in my PCA. It was OK until the night after surgery when I was getting ready to go to sleep. I pumped it several times in a row, so I could fall asleep. Then as soon as I closed my eyes, I started having hallucinations. Not scary ones, but really weird. I mentioned it to the nurse and she said it was the demerol. I can't believe that people take drugs so they can do that on purpose. I'll be keeping you in my thoughts.

Hi Don~and Margie-Ann~ You are now officially a "post-op", Don! Congratulations! And yes, Margie-Ann, it's TOTALLY normal for your Dad to feel queasy and not really want to talk or have visitors (I know I didn't! *Smile* My family and fiance came anyway, but I basically slept and they talked to each other! *ha ha ha* It DOES get MUCH better, I promise! Take good care~

Margie-Ann, its perfectly normal to feel a little anti-social after surgery. I didn't talk to anyone who wasn't physically in my room for the entire time I was hospitalized. That includes family member who called. I just didn't feel up to it. Don't worry about it, your dad will feel more social when he starts to feel more human. Give him a few days! Please send him my warmest regards!
