Good Morning to all WLS brothers an sisters,Gods Blessing to you all.
Tommorrow will be 14 days since my surgery ,I can't believe it and as I thought and everyone says I do feel better every day ! I got 1/2 of the staples removed last Thursday and was weigh 12.3 lbs in 10days.Let me tell you I was almost too shocked to get off the scales.also too shocked to be happy at that moment it is so hard to believe.I haven't lost that much in 3-4 months of being on any diet I have ever been on.Of course this is not a diet,it is a tool to reach goals I never could before, it is a new healthier way of life for me .I am on Gods Pathway to Healing and I believe that more now more than ever.I did have terrible pain in my left side in the Hospital and a fever 101.5 they weren't going to let me come home.I prayed hard about both and came home on Thursday the 25th as planned! God is good and does answer our prayers.I have had no complications,I was and am very tired, as I wrote I got my period one day before surgery but thank goodness that is all done with for this month. I am healing nicely and keeping everything down,I havebeen walking on my deck since day one, using my incentive spirometer and deep breathing.Still sleeping in the recliner though because for some reason I can' t lie flat and turn over to change position. My DH has become a very good nurse and has to return to work tomorrow,I wish not cause he has become very good at caring for me and making my liquid soups and all strained and real good.I must say thank God I am not missing any foods at this point and I hope it continues thus.I do from time to time miss my soda since I was such a diet pepsi addict.I am very glad I took someones advice and stopped the one with caffiene long before surgery that could have been a real bummer.
Thanks again to everyone on this site I never could have made it without all of you,Especially Bob, Ruth a my Angel Sharon.who by the way is starting a new job out of the house I am so proud of her and happy for her.Last but not least my new friend Teri who had surgery Sept 27th whom I met in PT she has helped me alot with questions etc since she is so recently in the same place,My other good friend from PT Darlene is having surgery this coming Wednesday, she isn't a member of this site because she can't sit long enough to write e-mails etc at the puter too much energy! I am sure that energy will serve her after surgery ,please say a prayer for her also.
If I had one thing to tell all pre-ops I would say walk walk and walk some more if you can, work on your upper body strength, and practice deep breathing and coughing.PT was my one saving grace after surgery and I didn't really take PT that seriously and we need to if we are able <I am going back as soon as I can after I heal and get the ok I think since it is getting cold and all it will be good for strenthening and toning after recovery I hope I won't have to have a tummy tuck but that is a couple of yrs away . at least God Bless all Patti
