Well, I've lost about 42 lbs. now and have had to buy some new clothes. People are quite amazed at how good I look and don't think I need to lose any more weight! Actually, I have another 40 lbs. to go. My ideal weight should be under 120 lbs. because I am so short. All the exercise and strength training has made a difference in how I look. My surgeon thinks my weight loss does not reflect how much fat I have lost because I have been gaining muscle. I can walk miles now instead of barely to the corner of my street! Most of my new clothes are size 14 instead of size 20! My new measurements are 40-30-40. WLS is the best decision I could have made!

Hi everyone. I am 8 weeks post-surgery and feeling good! I have officially lost 20 lbs. My clothes fit so much better - some are even loose! I am still learning how to eat so as not to overwhelm my pouch. The doctor said I am doing well with my weight loss.

It's been about a month and I've lost almost 18 lbs. (according to my scale). I will see Dr. O'Malley the third of May for my next post-op visit. If I'm not careful what I eat, my stomach really hurts afterward. I can eat quite a bit now, but I throw up easily if I eat too fast. I'm back to the gym doing the treadmill and reclining stepper. Then I do circuit training on a univeral weight machine. Still have to be easy on the weights until more healed. My clothes fit so much better!

Hi Everyone! I saw my doctor's PA yesterday and got my staples out-yeah! She put steri-strips on in place of the staples. I have lost a pound a day since the surgery - that's about 9 pounds! I can also start to eat semi-solid foods like pureed chicken, mashed potatoes and creamed corn. Sounds good to me! Though I am still in some pain, the medication really helps, and I am able to move around with little trouble. Today I walked on the treadmill - slowly - for 13 minutes then worked out with some light weights for 15 minutes. That's enough for now! Best wishes to everyone thinking about, going through, or recovering from, WLS.

Hi Everyone! Thank you for all your support. I'm four days post surgery. My surgery went well, but I was in a lot of pain. Guess nothing really prepares you for that! My doctor didn't have me do an enema before my surgery. That was a mistake! I would advise anyone to give themselves an enema the day before. I ended up having to give myself one the day I got home to get rid of the backup. Not fun! Eating is an adventure. My eyes are DEFINITELY bigger than my stomach. Getting up from sitting or lying down is difficult. Once I'm up, I'm okay. Coughing and sneezing are not nice! I've had a bit of a low grade fever since the surgery. It's 99.8 degrees F right now. They removed the drain and my IV the next day, which was great! My hospital stay at Highland was good, and the nursing care excellent. Well, I'll keep you posted.
