Many prayers and thoughts are being sent to you for a safe and uneventful journey. I did the exact thing pre-op looking at the memorial page and literally got sick to my stomache two days before suregery. You will be fine just remain prayful.. 7/10/02 - OPEN RNY
Don't worry about not being tested for sleep apnea pre-op. Most WLS doctors require it but as a recovery room nurse I have seen many people come through all sorts of major surgery without being diagnosed with sleep apnea. It is certainly beneficial to you to use a CPAP machine while sleeping if you are diagnosed with sleep apnea but it is not used during the surgery. If you were to encounter any respiratory problems at all the anesthesia doctors will know how to take care of it. Good luck.
