1/22/02 - How times flies! It's been 3.5 months since my surgery. Although the first few weeks did seem the hardest, they are a distant memory now. I've lost over 50 lbs and 33 inches so far. Another 50-70 lbs to go. My energy level and mental state are so much better now. It's wonderful fitting into smaller clothes, and getting feedback about how good I'm looking. Thanks to all who have given support in various ways. This website is a Godsend for pre and postop alike.

10/22 Almost two weeks out. Saw Dr. Mando last Wednesday. Lost 16 lbs! I'm still feeling good, and haven't had any problems with nausea, etc. Started on full liquids, and am enjoying the new variety of yogurts, creamy soups, etc. I know that'll get old too soon. I'm going today to buy protein powder and my dietary supplements. Went to the store yesterday and spent two hours pushing around the cart, getting groceries, etc. Really was whipped by the time I checked out. Just when I think I'm fully recovered, something like that happens, and I realize I'm only 2 wks out of surgery, slow down! lol

Colleen: I am glad everything went well for you. I am doing very well. I had the Adjustable Gastric Band and am very happy with my progress although it is much slower than yours will be. Altough we took different routes, hopefully we will both end up at the same place.

10/15 I'm home, and feeling good enough to spend time at the computer several times a day. Spent 3 nights in the hospital, which will be the last time I do that, if I have anything to say about it. LOL Not that it was bad. The docs, nurses, and aides were great. Very responsive and caring. Especially Miss Norris and LaDonna. Just laying in that bed all that time was depressing, and fighting the IV and catheter every time I moved was frustrating. God help me (and the staff) if I ever have to be a longterm patient. LOL Couldn't wait to get home. Now I am doing the clear liquid routine. Getting bored with it, but it's only for a few more days. I CAN DO IT! I see my doc on Wednesday, and will celebrate afterwards by switching to full liquids. Yeah!

Colleen, I hope your surgery went well yesterday. I wish I had the opportunity to find your profile before your surgery but it's better late than never. :) I'm so happy we have an opportunity to do something to better our health. My surgery is scheduled for 10/25/01 (which is so close). I wish you a speedy recovery! Please keep everyone posted on how you are doing. God bless!

Hi Colleen, your WLS birthday is the same as my real world birthday, so I'll be sending up an extra prayer for you and all the other pre ops with the same surgical date. What a wonderous world we live in! Best of luck and God bless!

"I WISH YOU ENOUGH"----------I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright. I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more. I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive. I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger. I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting. I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess. I wish you all the very best on your upcoming surgery, a speedy, problem free recovery and a rapid weight loss. (LA MESA, CA.)
