LINDA~~ WELCOME TO THE LOSING SIDE~~ My second surgery had to be done "open" and my surgeon prefers to leave it open to heal.... My incision has finally completely "closed" (my surgery was June 25th) The Drs kept telling me 6-8 weeks.... and when I'd go back in a couple weeks later, they'd tell me 6-8 weeks.... But, I know people who's incisions have healed a lot quicker. I think that part of my delay had to do with the fact that I was not eating a lot- they say that getting a lot of protein will help the healing process..... WISHING YOU THE VERY BEST ON YOUR WLS JOURNEY.

I am 12 days post -op, and down 22 pounds...I can't believe it I feel like I am MELTING! I am having a problem with the bottome of my incision, and now have nurses coming to the house daily to change the drain/dressing. At first I was completely hysterical about this "situation" but now I realize after reading so many posts that I should be grateful that wound healing is my only problem...I am tolerating pureed foods and getting all my liquids in, and am Very pleased with the surgery results in general My wound isn't infected...JUST DEEP!! Would love to hear from anyone who had a similar situation to know how long this could take...I got the impression from the nurses it could be a few weeks. THANKS
