PLEASE PLEASE, SAY A FEW PRAYERS FOR MY GREAT FRIEND DAWN: I spoke with Dawn for just a few minutes this afternoon. She is one week out from
her open RNY. She told me today that everything that could have gone wrong, has. The surgeon nicked her spleen and she had uncontrollable bleeding in surgery. He also had problems making the new pouch and she was in surgery much longer than they had anticipated. Now a week later her doctor suspects a leak. She will be having a CT scan momentarily. She may be back in surgery as early as tonight. The hardest part for her has been the
fact that she has had absolutely nothing to drink or even the least bit wet all week. She sounds
very depressed, I wish I could be there with her
to hold her hand. Please keep her in your prayers.
She has a wonderful supportive husband who is madly in love with her (he told me this himself : )
He has only left her side this week long enough
to run home and shower and shave. She also has
3 teenage sons who really need and love their mom.
Please stop by her surgery page and wish her well and add her to your prayers tonight.
ANGEL REPORT ON MY GOOD FRIEND DAWN: Dawn's husband called me this morning to let me know of Dawn's condition. He wanted to let me know too, that
he was mistaken regarding the laceration of the liver. Appears that it was actually the spleen. The reason her surgery took so long was that the surgeon was having a hard time getting the pouch
"just right." Because of this she does have a drain that she wasn't planning on. She is resting comfortably and is being well cared for by her husband, who spent the night taking care of her. What a guy! I can't wait to talk with her.
Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
ANXIOUS, AND NOW RELIEVED ANGEL REPORT !!! Dawn was scheduled for surgery first thing this morning.
Her wonderful husband was going to call me soon as he had any news. By noon I hadn't heard a thing and was starting to get a bit anxious. A little later on I tried his cell phone but could only leave a message. I heard from him at 4:00pm and he said that Dawn's surgery had been bumped and she was a few hours late getting in. He had just talked with
someone in the OR and he reported that Dawn would need a blood transfusion and her surgery would be longer than expected. He called again at 6 pm and
Dawn was just going into recovery. The good news
is they didn't have to transfuse after all. The surgeon had nicked her liver and apparently had
a hard time getting the bleeding stopped. So,
by now I hope she is resting peacefully in her room. I will call her on Sunday and will hopefully have good news to report. Way to go Dawn!!!
Dawn, congratulations on your upcoming surgery. May you be blessed with an easy surgery and a rapid, painless recovery. Don’t forget to drink your water, get enough protein, take your vitamins, exercise and… CONTINUE TO MAKE YOUR DREAMS YOUR REALITY
