Gail, you ROCK! Keep 'em honest, girlfriend. There are more of us that relate to your struggles than you realise, I'm sure! Many of them will get to the point we are and finally be able to relate.

Gail, Keep on posting the struggles that you face....it might just help another person or a host of people on thier journies. For those that think that surgery is the cure all to the weight and emotional eating they need to realize that this battle is not just one of weight but one that the mind must also conquer. Too many people seem to feel that surgery will make it all grand. Those of us that face that daily struggle know that is so NOT true!! KimmieTN

GAIL~~ Thanks for posting your struggles. I have been struggling the past couple weeks, too. It helped me to know that I'm not the only one.

Today is another day Begin again forget the past including the little debbie cakes of yesterday. Start over again. You ralize you slipped. If you were walking down a hill and you slipped and fell would you just sit there and beat yourself up about falling over a pebble in the road or would you laugh and get up and say that was a dumb thing to to and go on. Today you go on and remember everyone here has slipped at one time or another. We are all human and do dumb things but we don't have to keep doing them. We learn and go on. Lol Chrisy D

Gail - I am praying for you. I would like to suggest trying Dr Atkins Advantage Bars, especially the chocolate peanut butter, the chocolate rasperry, frosty cinamon flavors. They have no sugar, but are very, very low in carbs. Helps me with my sweet tooth. Plus they are loaded with protein. Thank God I have the sugar problem under control, and I keep my carbs down. I've lost 160 lbs. in 15 months. I always felt I could never eat what I used to eat and along the way somehow I changed my desire for pasta, bread, potatoes, and desserts. My prayer: that I never desire those things again.

Gail, I read your post today and just wanted to say I am saying a prayer for you. I have been blessed without the sugar demon since the surgery. I used to be the one that would eat all the sugar flowers off birthday cakes; the sweeter the better. Now; I have very little interest in sweets at all. I have (through this site) and others heard great things regarding the concept of 'carbohydrate addicts'. there are web sites and books. the concept seems to be pretty sound; almost a gentler version of Adkins. Apparantly by putting carbs in you create cravings for more carbs. Perhaps you could check it out. Wishing you the very best. Monika

Hi Gail- I just wanted to say congratulations on leaving the "morbid" category! I started at 385 and now weigh 310. If I lose to 260, I'll hit 39.9 and be severely obese, also. You are an inspiration to me, since our starting weights are so close. You look really wonderful. I have not had surgery, and I'm hoping to avoid it, but it's slow going. I enjoy reading your posts on the message board, and I just wanted to add my congratulations to those of the others. If I can ever get down to severely obese, I'll be one happy severely obese woman! Best Wishes - Kim
