2 months and 2 days

Nov 10, 2008

I am post-op 2 months and 2 days now and I can't believe how much better I feel about myself. I am now down 28lbs and still going, thank goodness! I am still completely off my diabetes medications and haven't had to take a sliding scale dose of Novolog since the 2nd week post-op (I believe). I am technically 1/3 of the way to my weight loss goal in just 2 months. I have wished for a long time that my temperature regulation would match everyone else's because I have always been sooooo much hotter than everyone else. I can finally say, I'm getting cold!! I can agree with my coworkers on the temperature of the room, which may seem silly but when you are stuck working with patients for 12 hrs, in the same room, you need to be comfortable. I still feel as if I get tired a little easier than I used to but feeling so good about myself helps to keep me going. I have absolutely no issues with food. I can eat whatever I want and be ok. Milk is fabulous, chocolate used to be my go-to pal but things just dont taste the same and I don't crave things like that anymore but if I do eat a piece, no dumping occurs. Life is good and getting better!

1 week Pre-op

Aug 31, 2008

I am 25 mins from officially being 1 week pre-op and I can't stop freaking out about it. I am excited, I know this will change my life for the better but, they are about to go into my abdominal area and remodel it. I can't help but think holy crap, I hate being in pain. I have a few people I work with that are supportive and many who say I am too thin (HA, 80lbs overweight) to have the surgery, and it seems my family is like ok, whatever.  I feel somewhat alone in my journey.
