Surgery Date 4/2/03 preops 3/31/03 Told husband that surgery was on 4th he takes off 3rd and 4th and the weekend.. (Total Shock to me )now he is going to try to take off 2nd ....we are still going through with the divorce but to my surprise he is going to let me go with the surgery and be there ..all his family interferance is driving me insane and keeping me upset..we love each other Just not happy sorry did not mean to Vent SURGERY >>>>>>>>>>>> 04-02-2003

Warning Long Post 3/16/03 Me and my daughter who is 19 from previous marriage are going to try to get a apartment together some time before April 1st and so maybe I can still have the surgery but no promises I am still going to return schedualings call and make the date on Monday, and I am not going to cancel surgery after reading a sight someone posted in forum I was surprised at what all I had on the symptons and with this surgery I can eliminate all these problems with surgery I could care less about being skinny I want to be healthy http://www.sabariatric.com/ Pulmonary - obstructive sleep apnea, obesity hypoventilation syndrome Gastrointestinal, abdominal - stress urinary incontinence. Endocrine - menstrual irregularity or infertility, Genitourinary, reproductive-stress urinary incontinence, irregular menses Cardiac -hypertension after reading information on the sight , I thought all I had was Obstructive Sleep Apnea and being overweight, and major problems of pain in my abdominal area, but those pains are not all the time when they happen it happens all at once and last a few hours.......My Husband loves me and I love him but we are both unhappy and have been for a while and yes I am scared to death to be alone again, he did say he will keep me on the insurance and he did say he will help me get a apartment but it will take some time ,Divorce can be nasty and I done went through a nasty one once I dont want this one to be nasty, I just think after we are divorced he will see he still has the same bills and same finacial responsibilty but will be harder cause he wont have my extra 1300 a month to help him,( psst I Get a raise on the 17th I wont be paying a 500 truck pmt and spending almost 400.00 a month in gas to get back and forth for work and 200.00 a month on truck insurance...so therefor I wont have to help him cover those exspenses anymore .....ok enough venting now my devasting news I found my cat *Bandit* he has been missing , I have had him 8 years I cried when I found him, My husband buried him for me can it possiably get any worse, I tell you all everything in this sight cause you understand thanks for listening

Dear Tammy, Please do not change your mind because of the divorce. As was said, you can get disability. I don't know if your insurance would go along with this or even if you would be interested, but if you had the Lap Band surgery, the recovery time is about one week. The moderator of my support group had it, I saw her one week later and she was feeling great. However, if you do decide to go along with the open rny, just make sure you have everything you will need in your house. Also, you can probably get a visiting nurse to come in. Inquire about this with your surgeon. As a matter of fact, speak with him/her about this. Perhaps they know of other options to help you. Just remember, you are doing this for YOU. Especially with a divorce, you will be starting a new and rewarding life. Don't sell yourself short. GO FOR IT!!!!! Hugs to you, Carol

Hi Tammy ..u should not give upetting the surgery especially since your soon to be ex is keeping you on the insurance..you can apply for disabilty after the surgery and be able to get it under your circumstances..you want to be healthy well u will be..then if u dont do this surgery it wil take you another year to get it again..just go with it and do it..im sure u will be fine take care joann laporte

Tammy-please please keep your head up. I am sure things will work out. Keep focused on yourself and your health...you may qualify for emergency aid after surgery...something like that. Please don't close your options off yet. You will be in my thoughts...

Tammy if anyway possible go on with your surgery. Remember this surgery is for you it is a step in ypur new life If he files for divorce he will still have to help support you when you are on medical leave. He can not get out of that. Any lawyer would tell you. This has been scheduled. He knew about it and go on with it. Let his incurance pay while you have it and while the approval is there. There will be a way for you to live. Get in touch with a lawyer and go on with the surgery. I wish I had gone on with my life 20 yeqrs ago when I went thru divorce. Instead I sacrificed for my childern, family, job and all the things we think is more important than yourself. Well 20 years later all those things have gone on or moved on and I am still sitting here fat. Keep your mind on your own needs and this surgery is topmost. The rest will be there when you are over the surgery Good luck to you Chrisy D
