Tammy I too haave UHC They lost my paperwork three times. I called every day finally they acknowledged receipt of the paperwork. When it seemed stuck in review (Two Weeks) I began calling again every day. They finally told me they would have a supervisor check on it and to call back. I did and found out it was approved. Soooooo KEERP CALLING now they have mailed approval and it has not been recieved yet It has been 10 days. So I called again yesterday and insisted they fax a copy of approval to the doctor. Still waiting for that. So perserverience is the key. Who know we may have the same day for surgery. Good Luck to you Chrisy D

well I called BTC in michigan and asked where I stood, they said they sent my paperwork to UHC last week, no I havent been aprroved I asked them why would the Surgen called me and tell me I was , They said because the surgen has cleared me so all I am waiting on is the insurance approval, So I Call UHC and ask them what predertmination& precerted means ( yes I am a air head ) they told me what it meant. also I asked about my status, and the women told me UHC has been reviewing it since Feb 18, she said it usually takes Just a week , so now she is going to get her supervisor on it and I am to call back tomorrow.......I am still not smoking , hate having to quit when I am not ready to...... and Thankyou for all the emails yall did cheer me up ..........

Tammy!!!! Hangin there.... If the surgeon is saying approved I would go with it. Pre cert is usually followed by approval (not always but usually) that is probably what dr. leverton is basing it on. Call her directly and ask her!! Are you getting the ice where you are? It is pretty heavy here in Burleson. I am calling BTC tomorrow to see if there has been any cancelations for consults to see if I can get in sooner. Eimail if you need to vent or just talk!!! Way to go! A warm fuzzy and a big hug! And soon you will be a loser. I'm hoping to become a loser in the near future. Keep up with the posts. We all need any and all onfo that helps.
