My first impression of Dr. Smith was he was very comfortable to talk with. He answered all my questions and explained all the risk. I was impressed with his staff, they were very helpful and talked with you as a person, not just another patient. Cindy the dietician was great! She made me really understand, the life change I was taking on and what I need to do to be successful.

Dr. Dwayne Smith was very nice when I met him. He explained everything very well and wanted to know if I had any questions. His staff is very nice and helpful, and always willing to answer any questions. I am going in for my second appointment with him but so far everything is great.

I am now post-op and doing great, and the after care from Dr. Smith office is great.

Dr. Smith was pleasant when I first met him. He is very direct and doesn't sugar coat anything. That is a quality I value. I still find him to be the same way. Dr. Curry who was also at my surgury because it was laproscopic rny, and was done at Deaconess Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. Dr. Curry was very friendly and very sincere. Dr. Smith's staff has been wonderful, they are all so nice and kind. Lisa is a trip, she cracks me up, and yet she is very no nonsense. I haven't had much aftercare, only because it hasn't been very long. Dr. Smith covers the surgical competence, and Lisa covers the bedside manner. Together they make a good team. If you need to be babied, and you can't take direct info, you should probly look somewhere else. I would recommend them, but they are very direct.

Dr. Smith is a nice man. He smiles and is very upfront and honest about everything that can happen. He made sure I had all of my questions answered and I trust him.

His staff is GREAT. I have bugged the heck out of them but they are still very nice to me. I have never had to wait long to see the doctor and most of them already know me when I walk in the door.

A couple of my coworkers had the bypass surgery and that made me curious. They talked highly of Dr.Smith and his staff. My first few impressions were not that great due to one staff member in particular. I am glad that she is no longer with the team as she was very rude to myself and my family. My impression of Dr. Smith, Lisa, Lynn and Natalie has not changed as they were supportive throughout the entire process. What I liked the least about the process were the psych and dietician visits. I think because I thought of them as just procedural appointments that I had to get through to get approved. I think future patients should feel very confident in this team. This is something I would recommend to others as I would do it over a in order to get the results that I've gotten. Dr. Smith provides a support group as you've read about. I went to my first one after 9 months post op. I thought I was too tough for a support group, but after attending learned that it isn't about weekness, but about learning from each other and feeling good about common concerns and celebrating others successes. I rate the entire office very highly and thank God for all of them as they are angels who have helped me to get my life back.

I really enjoyed talking with Dr. Smith. He is a very smart and skilled surgeon. The office staff including Natalie and Carol are wonderful and so patient. He is very straight forward about the risks and that death is always a possibility. He also emphasises that no patient is considered "Low Risk" that this is major surgery and should be recognized as such.

When I first met Dr Smith I thought he had a horrible bedside manner but I was determined to have the surgery done before the 1st of the year because my insurance plan, Humnan Coice Care HMO would not cover it as of 01/04. I am a smoker and on my 1st comsultation for surgery he fussed at me over it and said that I needed to quit whether I was approved or not. I had initially thought this was inapporpriate (until I got pneumonia in the hospital a day after surgery). By my 2nd visit, I began to be comfortable with him and realized that he wasn't so bad. Then over time I got to know him more and if I had it to do all over again, I wouldn't look at another doctor but him. He was kind, adn his bedside manner was wonderful. He is extremely knowledgable and he and his office staff made me feel as if I was his only patient. The office has an aftercare program and a support group that is wonderful, though I do not attend regularly due to my work hours. I would highly reccommend Dr Smith to anyone considering WLS in Cincinnati or Northern Kentucky. He is truly a wonderful man and the staff is fantastic.

I immediately liked and trusted him. He took the time to answer and and all questions and explain in full detail the procedure.
My impression hasn't really changed since surgery.
The staff has been very helpful and always cheerful.

Both the surgeon and his staff encourage me to join the support group.

Very open about the gravity of the situation - morbid obesity vs WLS
On a scale of 1 to 10 = 10

Pre-surgery and surgical competence. His assistant, Lisa, has the bedside manner gene.

My first impression of Dr. Smith was very pleasant. I have had 2 previous abdominal surgeries. The first was hiatel hernia repair which was done by Dr. Smith. The second was done by a plastic surgeon, Donald Jette MD. I almost dieded due to his mistakes. I feel good being back with Dr. Smith.
The office staff seems very qualified. The receptionist,Natalie, I found out is a distant relative of mine. (Nice to know you have family).
The dietician is very direct and no nonsense. I found this to be what I need.
Dr. Smith has a structed aftercare program. I am just starting out, so will know more after surgery. As of now, I feel that I know what I need to know about my surgery. I am meeting with the dietician for a second visit to make sure of what I will need to have in my pantry, as well as to restate what will be acceptable to eat.
