My first impression of him was I really like this Dr. Storey. He tells you like it is!
The only thing I can say is the more I went for my appointments I liked him even more. He doesn't rush you to get out of his office.
What can I say WOW #1 in my books. Very kind staff.
There was nothing I disliked.
If you are considering WLS please check out Dr. Storey I don't think you'll be diappointed.
That is very important which I like because if I have any thing happening he will know right away. He's big on aftercare and I feel that is a big thing.
He has a forum every month for you to go to so you'll always have a support group.
His forum is very informing. It is a must to go to before he will even see you.
A-1 excellant
I think both are great because you'll have confidence going in and coming out of surgery.

Dr. Storey is very education oriented and insists that his patients are very much aware of the changes that are expected in their diet and exercise and the affects of the surgery on the patient relative to body changes and nutrition supplements that are necessary for the rest of that persons life. He will not proceed with the surgery until he is confident that the patient truly understands the procedure and is committed to making the lifestyle changes that are necessary to ensure success. He truly cares about each one of his patients and is less than forgiving should his office staff drop the ball on issues that deal with his patients. He is very emphatic on aftercare and sponsors monthly sessions on nutrition and group meetings. I would rate him overall as exceptional in surgical competence and bedside manner.

My first impression of Dr. Storey was that my God he gets right to the point and tells you just how it's going to be, there was no candy coating in his presentation. My impression of him hasn't changed I like the way he comes across as being straight foward wouldn't have it any other way. So far the staff of Dr Storey is very friendly I have yet to get any bad vibes. At this point and time I have nothing to say as for as any dislikes. Hmmmm, if you want someone to candy coat what is to be said then you don't want Dr Storey as your doctor. For again he's straight up with what he has to say.

Hello All and Dr. Storey,
My first impression of Dr. Storey was that he was a very straight forward man. For many this is intimidating to them, for me it was refereshing. I like knowing where I stand with people. My impression of never changed however, I grew to truly trust him as a physician that cared. His staff especially Trish, are very kind and will do whatever is necessary to make sure that the process goes smoothly for you.
If you are considering going under the care of Dr Storey I would that you definitely need to be committed to doing your part in the process. If it is a joint effort things wil go very fast.
Dr. Storey is very specific in your care and how you will be a large part of making the WLS successful. He is very structured but he will explain why that is. He is also very frank about the risks and stats of having the surgery.
Overall I rate Dr. Storey at the top. He has made this process very easy for me.

First - Here is a quick overview on the process Dr. Storey uses for the Gastric By-Pass patients:--------------------------------
Step 1 - attend info meeting. About 1.5 to 2 hours long.--------------------------------
Step 2 - next day, call to schedule first office visit--------------------------------
Step 3 - before first office visit attend his nutrition class and get a pych evaluation.--------------------------------
Step 4 - first office visit. Give him all info and medical records you have about your attempts at weight loss and medical issues related to your weight. He answers questions.--------------------------------
Step 5 - he sends you a away for three weeks to think about things and then you come in for office visit #2. At office visit number 2, you get the chance to ask more questions - that is the sole purpose of this visit as stated by him to me (note - I turned in a comprehensive packet of medical history and diet history at step one. If you did not, you may have additional steps).--------------------------------
Step 6 - you go away and he submits the insurance claim whenever the heck he feels like it. For me, this was 4 weeks and 3 days after Step 5 (office visit #2).--------------------------------
Step 7 - Trish calls you when your insurance company approves your claim. You set up a surgery date and a date to come in for the next office visit.--------------------------------
Step 8 - Office visit #3. You take a written test. He goes over the answers with you. He also gives you a third chance to ask questions and has your read and sign his waiver. At this point I also paid his fee.--------------------------------
Step 9 - blood tests and admissions paperwork at the hospital he uses (within a week of surgery).----------------------------------------------------------------------
Note** you will be on liquids only 7 days before surgery. The first 4 days - just about anything liquid. The last 3 days, clear liquids only.--------------------------------------------------------------
Step 10 - show up the day of surgery. Have surgery. Go home anywhere from 2 days on up depending on how your surgery went. --------------------------------------------------------
Post Operative Eating ****** Clear liquids for 7 days. Full liquids for 7 days. Pureed foods for about a month. Then you graduate to "real food."------------------------------------------------
Step 11 - follow ups are standard at 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months and 1 year.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dr. Storey was tough from the get go. I was not fond of him personally but my husband thought he was good.
This doctor is by the book, his book and his way. He has been doing this surgery for years and he knows everything about it and he informs you of everything about it at his seminar. I found that intimitating to me.
He is the man who did my surgery and worried and watched over me when I had no idea he was there at the hospital. I am glad that he is straight forward.
I now think that he is one heck of a surgeon and his surgeon personality has come through when we see him I have to say that my opinion of him has changed dramatically.
His office staff are very informative and helpful with every aspect of this surgery. They are quick to respond and answer any questions. Great doctor with a Great staff!
I would have him again in a minute.
Yes, he has an after care program and the recovery goes more smooothly when you listen to him and follow his instructions. He is the expert so who else would you want guiding you on this adventure?
I give him a 9.

First impression was that he was very concerned for the well being of the patient and wouldn't do the surgery if it wasn't feasible.
I liked his attitude. His humor too. It helped lighten up the group during the meetings.
Office staff was great. They have been very accommodating to my needs.
I haven't found anything I didn't like so far. Dr. Story has been very informative and takes plenty of time with me.
Be on time as the doctor has a tight schedule. No long waits in the office.
So far aftercare is something each one of us need to plan for and need aftercare support.
Yes, he requires follow up visits and information exchange with you MD.
Risks are explained during the meetings.
So far I'd rate Dr. Story a 10 for 10!
Of course you want surgical competence and bedside manner is important. So both is needed.
As far as anything negative all I can say is that you can tell that the doctor is busy by the condition of his lab coat. That is the only thing I could see that needs improvement. So I am happy up to now which is pre-op

I work with Dr. Storey in surgery on a daily basis. Sometimes his bedside manner leaves a little to be desired, but the man is always on top of things with his patients. He revised my mother's roux from a Colorado procedure done 2 years ago. And I am now 3 days post-op. We have nothing but good things to say about him.

My 1st impression is he is a down to earth doctor, which makes it much easier to talk to him. He has a strict policy that you must treat his staff with up-most respect, or he will not see you as a patient. I did have to wait a long time to get approved through my insurance, I even had all the test done before my first visit (Sleep-study, Dr. letters from all dr. and blood work). I went to his class in March, had my first appointment on March 22nd, and I thought the insurance process would start then, I'm not to sure what happened after that, but when I called my insurance office at the end of May, they told methey had not recieved anything on me, so i called trish and she faxed it to them, once again I do not know what happened but my paper work was sent to all the wrong departments in my insurance co. but finaly in mid July Trish from Dr. Storey office called me and said I WAS APPROVED. Dr. Storey does give you all the goods and bads about the surgey, does not sugar coat anything. Yes he has a very structured aftercare program, I have not yet been, but hope to soon.
Both his surgical and bedside manners are great. I would give him a 10 out of a 10
