Dr. Eibes did my surgery on November 27, 2006. Before the surgery I would of said he didn't have bedside manners. My husband and I asked him questions and his reply was \"didn't you read the patient education materials I sent home with you?\" I have seen him twice since the surgery and my opinion of him has gotten better. He really is good at what he does. Very professional. His office staff is the best! No complaints. The least thing I like about Dr. Eibes is he doesn't always look you in the eye when he is talking to you. He emphasizes aftercare a lot. He states clearly the risks of the surgery. I rate him a 10 out of 10. He really is a specialist in bariatric surgery. Very qualified to do your surgery. Don't expect him to be your typical family doctor and be touchy-feely.

Dr. Eibes seems very kind and knowledgeable. It was wonderful to speak with a physician who didn't appear to judge me for being morbidly obese. The Des Moines Bariatric office staff has been wonderful so far. Everyone has answered my questions right away.

Dr.Eibes is a very caring, thorough surgeon. He has years of Bariatric experience and his complication rate is very low. He believes in really educating the patient before even doing the surgery. I felt very comfortable under his care. His office staff is also very experienced, and has been with him for several years. Overall I would rate Dr. Eibes and his staff as superior, very excellent and above all the rest.

Met Dr Eibes at the informational meeting. Seems very knowledgeable. rnrnAttended a class at the office and he was very forthcoming in talking about his experience.rnrnDuring the face to face he was very funny and seemed to understand what we were dealing with. That's pretty impressive for a skinny guy.

I got back in with Dr. Eibes after 2 years. I have my consult with him next week. He's the best!!!!!

I attended the pre-appointment 2 hour class taught by Dr. Eibes and his staff. It was very good. They provided me with a notebook of helpful information included in the class as well as recipes. I met with Dr. Eibes for my initial appointment 4 days later. He and is staff are very professional and made me feel I have made the right decision. It is clear that this physician and his team are committed to following their clients for the long run.

Dr. Eibes was great. But he is now in Des Moines. His office staff, was not the greatest. The nurses were great, but the receptionist are quite rude. His other doctors in the office are great!

But again this is just my opinion.

I had my open RNY WLS on March 31st, 2003 Dr. Eibes is my surgeion had he is a very excellent surgeon. He is very kind and understanding. His manners as a surgeion is very good. Dr. Eibes is just the best. I had a total of four surgeries with him and I had no problems during the surgery.

(9-22-04) I am now 6 months post-op. My job has become much easier physically since I am down almost a hundred pounds!!! I work at Grinnell Hospital where there are 4 bariatric surgeons on staff. We have only an 18 bed surgical floor, but yet we do more bariatric surgeries than anyone in the state!! I am proud to be part of the team at GRMC, as well as a successful WLS client. Dr. Eibes is the best in my opinion. He is straight forward and is very experienced at what he does. He has never had a death from bariatric surgery. I am so glad that I had Dr. Eibes. My life is so much better now than before WLS..THANK-YOU GOD & DR. EIBES! >
I work as a nurse at the hospital where Dr. Eibes preforms WLS. He knows his stuff. He wastes no time, is very thorough. He has helped me change my life....I would recommend him with high remarks to anyone considering this surgery!
"Surgical Associates" office and staff are very professional yet personable. Office is very clean and comfortable.
Aftercare is very emphasized from day one. all WLS patients receive a book that outlines everything, you have a dietician who visits with you prior to and after surgery to help you establish proper eating habits. There is also a great support group that meets once a month for all Grinnell WLS patients. it is very informative, a Doctor is at every meeting for Q&A's. Clothes are exchanged, recipes are available. there is a chatroom available. and you are given a list of members who have dedicated their time to help you with any concerns at any time. IT'S AWESOME!!!
I would rate him a 10 on compotence and bedside manner. Glad I chose Eibes!!

You are the best, I am going to miss you at GRMC. You have gave me back a life I can not begin to describe how wonderful I feel and look. I will always be thankful that I had you for my surgeon. YOU ARE THE BEST AT GRINNELL HOSPITAL!!!! Thank-you for your care! 1 year out in 2 days and I am down over 1/2 my total weight and went from a size 28W to a 12 and still slowly loosing. I can't begin to tell you how much you and God have changed my life! Kathy :)
