As a surgeon, he is tops, I would recommend him to anyone considering having WLS. As a person, he could use a course in better bedside manner. We had some misunderstandings, but seemed to work things out by the time I was released to come back to Arkansas.
His office staff is wonderful and there is seldom much, if any waiting time before getting in to see the doc.
2/27/05...Update on my experience with Dr. Eibes. My opinion has GREATLY improved with my second trip to Iowa and my first round of reconstructive surgery with him. His bedside manner and his mannerisms in general are awesome and he takes the time to listen and answer all questions now and in general has become accustomed to small-town living I believe. He is an amazing surgeon and a very nice person. I would recommend Dr. Eibes to anyone needing WLS and the reconstructive surgery that almost always is necessary to follow.
He was very nervous I thought, but knowledgeable.
After my surgery he was very caring and concerned because I was upset about losing the weight.
His staff was very friendly and helpful.
Nothing really.
That he is a caring man and not to worry about his strange behavior at first.
Very important about the after care.
Yes he does and he insist you follow it.
Yes he told me about the risk.
I would go back to him in a heart beat.
I like both in my doctor because I want to be able to trust the man that is going to cut on me.
Dr. Eibes has been very satisfactory. he is very confident and sure of himself which made me fell extremely comfortable. His office has always answered my questions, even when I have called several times a day.
I seriously have no complaints and did not have any negative experiences with Dr. Eibes. I alos did an extreme amount of research and talking to others up to 6 months before I had the surgery which also helped.
My first impression of Dr. Eibes was great. He is a very upfront surgeon.
I absolutely love Dr. Eibes, he has saved my life. I highly recommend him and his associates to anyone. They are all fabulous.
His office staff is wonderful as well. When I call the office and leave a message I get a return call almost immediately.
Again I would recommend him to anyone. His bedside and surgical compotence is great.
Dr. Eibus has a has a great aftercare program and he encourages you in all that you achieve. He was amazed to learn that I now walk 7 miles a day.
a Very good doc, was very personable when I first met him. Explained everything in good detail and drew out the picture of what he would be doing to my tummy. Did not have to wait long in the waiting room got right in. Nurses are pleasant. Kind of surprised the only test he did on me was blood pressure, but I had other tests done at the hospital. all in all he said I was an excellent candidate and he could see it would be great for me.
I also enjoyed the video he gave me and it helped answer other questions I may have forgotten to ask him when I was in his office.
04/04/03 I met Dr. Eibes for my initial consult. He was very easy to talk with, and understanding of my situation. I found him to be a nice, caring person.
I had heard mixed reviewes about Dr Eibes, so went into the consult with a small chip on my shoulder.
When I got to the clinic I was impressed with the waiting room, comfortable, not crowded, and quiet. The staff seemed friendly. I then waited 5 min and they called me back. There were 2 nurses who called me and my friend back. One normal, one cute blond and skinny :-( .
I got the blond skinny one, she was new and very nice, polite and i managed to like her.
I was nervous waiting for the Dr but when Dr Eibes came in he was unassuming and sat right down. He started on a canned talk but I interupted with a couple questions and he figured out I was a medical professional. After that he explained everything well. Validated me in the fact I had been unable to lose weight and this was the way I could actually do it! All in all a nice visit and I would reccomend him to others.
