St. Luke's Medical Center (COE) Hospital

I think the nurses at St. Lukes were excellent. They do have some problems with some of the other staff. Transportation people (wheel chair pushers), and certain staff that come and draw blood. Over all though I was very happy with my stay. The problems I did encounter were address very timely by the administration at St Lukes also.

Good experience with the Pre-Op and PACU nurses, I felt like they knew what they were doing. Floor nurses were overworked and none seemed to be core staff. I paid $200 extra for a private room and would highly recommend it due to the fact that the rooms are extremely small and offer very little privacy. I had very low expecations for the hospital and they were met. Would never want a family member there or myself, again, if I can help it.

Horrible care. I read some other posts before surgery and tried to prepare myself, but nothing could prepare me for this! We even complained to the charge nurse, and she just tried to pawn it off on how busy the nurses were (so busy that they forgot to plug in my leg pumps, forgot to get my urine sample, left my urine output in the bathroom for hours, and gave me a med right before the second surgery that I was allergic to (the only one!) and could have been potentially fatal!!). It was downright disgusting. Would (and have) advise those that are currently looking for a surgeon to steer clear of this hospital, even if it means finding another surgeon.
