Hi, here I am 4 months post op. 8 out of 10 days I feel normal, then I eat something that just doesnt agree and I am reminded my tummy is not normal ( yet?) Tonight it was rice that hasnt been setting too well. I suppose it will come back up within the next 1/2 hour as I am belching like crazy and having that "upchucky" feeling, Ive become quite familiar with. I am down 65 pounds. I walk a mile every night but I do not do too much else. I did have complications and ended up having 3 surgeries in 14 days. (2 lap, one open) I am 48.5 yrs and I hadnt had my period since the day after surgery BUT alas..today "IT" started. I am hoping my body won't make up for the last 4 months of not having one, by having this one last a LONG time. I have been in one foot race and I am planning on going to a Country Music Festival this weekend. I havent had a Vit B12 shot for 6 weeks and I am feeling run down. My DOC will do labs when I go back July 18 and I will get a B12 shot then. I missed 9 weeks of work, but Ive been working steady since then.

CONNIE~~May the world hug you today, With its warmth, and love. Pray it whispers a joyful tune in your heart. And may the wind carry a voice that tells you there is a friend, sitting in another corner of the world, wishing you well!

It is one month post op from RNY, then I had 2 more surgeries for complications. I have lost 250 to 219. I have been sick most of the time. Im finding it difficult to eat anything. After 2 days of diahrrea, I had a lab test and discovered I have a bug in my stool called C. Difficle. I was so glad to find out I had a REAL reason for having all this cramping and diahrrea, I picked up ABO to start for 10 days. At this point I would NOT do this again, but ask me again next month.

Connie, I'm sorry to hear you had to have additional surgery. Hope things improve from this point on and you begin to enjoy the benefits of the bypass surgery. Take care of yourself. We miss seeing your posts on the message board.

Connie asked me to give her AMOS friends an update: Connie had surgery last night to drain a hematoma. Her pouch is fine. She is in Stormont Vail hospital in Topeka, KS, Rm 715. I saw her this morning and she is doing okay - in a lot of pain as this time surgery was open versus lap. She will probably be in the hospital at least until Monday. Please continue to keep Connie in your prayers.
