12/5/01 - I met with Dr Kadarabek today for my initial consultation. I was impressed with the facility, although there was a LOT of waiting time between steps (not all the centers fault - one participant was very slow and really delayed things considerably). Dr K was very thorough about describing the surgery - he does a combination of VBG and RNY - and went over the pros and cons of going through with this. His staff was very helpful and very courteous, especially Bonnie. She was great.

He was very kind and understanding.

I went to a class for a day and they describe the nutrition and care.
He expalined what the risk were and percentages.
1-10 I'd give him a 9 at this point.

I want all three I found that I like this surgions manner and we will see how the rest works out.

I was very impressed with Dr. Kaderabek. He was very informative about the surgery and post op follow-up. Covered all the risks that might be involved. His office staff was very helpful.

I meet Dr. Kaderbek on march 7 in carmal at St v's bariatric weight loss service. He seems to be very knowledgable and professional. he was willing to answer any questions. The office staff were employees of St. V. hospital. The Doctor stressed that this is a life long commetment and that eating patterns would have to change and that exercise would be a must. He discribed potential hazzards of the surgery and interventions he plans tro use to decrease the risk of each of these. He4 discussed the routine hospital stay as one day in intensive care and total from three to five days. That we will be exdpecte4d to get up walk turn cough and deep breath.I feel that both competence and bed side mannor arevery improtant. Everyone wantys to believe their corner of something goes wrong. I have been working with the Doctors office off and on trying to get pre ops scheduled in atimely fashion as i have a need to have surgery and be back at work by the end of june they have been very helpfull, they have helped me schedule a lot of the testing in my home I can say that trying to see Dr in his office since the surgery has been extremely hard and have had to weight two hours or reschedule. Its put a burdon on our fasmily as it is a two hour trip one way. So i hope you don't have any complications.

Doctor Kadarebeck was wonderfull. My husband was impressed with the amount of time he took with my family after the surgery.He has always been friendly and considerate. First followup visit went very well And i've been released to work june 11. Of all the people who had surgery when i did Doctor Kaderabeck's have had less complications. I have recomended him to others.

I went to see Dr. Kaderabek in a group setting at St. Vincent Carmel. There were 4 of us. He is a very quiet but matter of fact person in the beginning. The staff was wonderful. They all seemed very caring and kind. The only thing I did notice is that he didnt have direct eye contact at first but it almost seemed like a shyness from him, not incompetence in any way. After he explained the surgery he does and gave us alot of information, he had us take a test and then whatever we got wrong he went over again with us just to make sure we had a proper understanding of the whole surgery. When I met with him by himself he was very nice. I didnt feel uncomfortable with him at all. He certainly stressed that this was a LIFE CHANGING SURGERY. After Care is a MUST!! I think surgical comptence as well as bedside manner are both important. He did let me know that the surgical experience is never the same for everyone. Basically, I feel like I can be in control of my destiny!

My first impression of Dr. Kaderabek was a
good one. I thought he was very friendly and very informative. His staff that I met was very willing to help in anyway they could to make us comfortable.I think he is a good chioce of surgeon for me. He explained the procedure along with all the risks in full detail. He wants everyone to know how life changing this surgery will be. He gave plenty of time for questions and he answered them completely and honestly. This was just my first meeting with him but overall I would give him a 9-10.

I just wanted to add that the more I talk to Dr.K.'s staff the better I like them. I have never called with a question that I did not get answered quickly. Shawnda has been such a GREAT help to me with getting me approved. I am even more sure now that I picked the right Dr. for me.
