Douglas Kaderabek Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

I met Dr Kaderabek May 2, 2001 he was very informative on the subject of wls and I felt he answered all of the questions asked of him in a timely and professional manner. I feel very confident in having him as my surgeon and on a scale of 1 to 10 would rate him a 10. Even tho I've only met him that one time, I did feel that he really does care for his patients and will do anything in his power to see them thru it all!!! I'm still waiting on a surgery date (should have it by this week, (2-11-02) so I can't say anything about his surgical competence, but from what I've read from his other patients I say he has a really good repore!!!

6-14-02 Sorry it's been so long for me to update, but here it goes.........I have to say that Dr. K is the sweetest surgeon, he takes his time to make sure all of your questions are answered and to make sure everything is going ok with you.........none of that run in and run out real quick. I would have this surgery done by Dr. K again in a heartbeat and I highly recommend him to anyone interested in having a high quality surgeon and a friend as well.
He informed me of my personal risks before my surgery and informed me of the extra precautions he'd be taking, I was so comfortable going into this knowing that he cared so much about my personal needs.
He not only knows what he's doing BUT he has a SUPER bedside manner, always came in with a smile and He really listened to what I had to say!!!
Dr. Kaderabek is the best and I rate him a 10++++++++

DR KADERABEK WAS VERY INFORMATIVE AND VERY PERSONABLE. HIS STAFF VERY HELPFUL AND VERY NICE. MADE ME FEEL VERY COMFORTABLE AND NOT SOME FAT SLOB(even when I got on the scale). Dr.KADERABEK WAS VERY ASSERTIVE THAT WE SHOULD CONTINUE WITH THE AFTERCARE SET FOR EACH OF US THAT WE SHOULD SEEK OUT A SUPPORT GROUP OR SERVICE.
HE WAS VERY INFORMATIVE ABOUT THE RISKS FOR THIS SURGERY AND SEEMED VERY CONFIDENT THAT HE AND THE STAFF AT THE HOSPITAL WILL BE VERY ATTENTIVE TO MAKE SURE THAT THERE ARE NO COMPLICATIONS. I WOULD RATE DR. KADERABEK ON THE FIRST VISIT A VERY SOLID 8 TO 9

The office staff was excellent. The initial consultation I was very nervous. However, he explained all the procedures, risks involved, etc... I think he was a little uptight though, as any doctor is. The aftercare was briefly discussed. I would definitely recommend this surgeon.

Dr. Kaderabek is a very straight forward man. He told me everything about the surgery and what to expect. He told me I was an excellent candidate for open VGB. I think he was a little impressed when he found out that I did my homework when it came to finding an insurance company with a history of approving people for this type of surgery. He and his staff were very professional and they treated me like a person. Since I don't believe in perfection, I would rate him....(so far) an 8!

I met Dr. Kaderabek in a group setting the first time and he was very thorough with his explaination of the different procedures. We were allowed to ask any questions we had and he was not in a hurry...if ya know what I mean. lol Which I appreciated very much.
Then we had a one on one visit and he went over all of my medical problems and was very cordial.
His office staff is so helpful and they don't mind me calling ...
I cannot remember that there was a lot about after care...
I have to say I can't give a really good opinion because I have not been able to talk to him enough..
but I am sure that will change as soon as I get a surgery date...

I've only met Dr Kaderabek once, but my impression of him was positive. He took the time the answer all my question and to thoroughly explain the surgery. Can say whether I recommend him or not yet. I'll let you know after March 5.

His staff has been wonderful. LaShawnda is a great help. The approval process was a breeze and all the pre-op stuff has gone off without a hitch.

My first impression of Dr. Kaderabek was great in that he took the time with me to answer any questions and give me information to check out this type surgery and if it was best for me. This impression never changed and now I admire him for giving so many people the chance at a new life. The staff is super. Any question or problem I had they answered. The aftercare programs were explained in detail and I signed a paper saying I would go to support group and eat by the plan and make my checkups etc.
The risks were explained fully and I was directed to help myself lower these in certain way. I would give the Doctor and staff a big ole A+. I think surgical competence is most important, but bedside manner doesn't hurt...

Very quiet, throughly explained that it would be a major lifestyle change. Also told me about the risks of surgery. Office staff seems wonderful, LaShonda in the insurance is a pleasure to talk to. I can't rate him yet, I'll let you know after surgery!!

1-11-02 at this time i have only met him once, but with good impressions. my friend also had him with her surgery and she had VERY good results. his office staff and nurses are very helpful with questions and insurance matters.

My first impression was a good one Dr. Kaderabek answered all questions even if they were petty ones. I think I have chosen the correct dr. for me but as with any dr. that you put your life in there hands I will be checking him out with any source I can find. But all in all he has been very nice and infomative!!!
12/7 I am now a little over 2 months post op and havent been seen by dr. k himself since I was in the hospital. I have been seen by his co-surgen. But I am VERY happy with the job he did on me.
