1. First impression of surgeon: He was very approachable and answered all my questions. Very upbeat and encouraging.

2. Office staff were very efficient and helpful.

3. Risks of surgery were clearly explained in an extensive consent form which specified that there was at least a 6 week wait before surgery would be scheduled. (Good cooling off period.)

4. Has an excellent website which clearly covers the causes of obesity, treatment options, different surgery types, etc.

5. His pre-op program seems to be determined on an individual basis -- depending on the patient's knowledge level. Pre-op I was not required to have nutritional counseling, attend a group session, or have a psychological evaluation. He knew I was an RN and had done extensive research on my own.

My first impression was great. He is very straight forward and very nice. His office was busy but the staff was still very nice. I took my 8 year old daughter with me and my sister because she is interested in the surgery too and the doctor and staff were very understanding and accomidating with them also. I would recommend a person go see Dr. Parvez if they want to have the surgery. I saw him at least once a day while I was in the hospital. He was friendly and let me know what I was supposed to do in a clear way that was easy to understand. I also was very happy at my post-op appointment. He answered all my questions and was very patient. I'm glad I found him as my surgeon.

Dr. Parez was all business. He knew why I was there and did not try to sugar coat anything. His office staff was very helpful with the appointments, and scheduling the hospital stay. I guess the Dr. was direct. He explained what he could do and told me to think about it. People shouldn't feel embarrassed, he knows what you are there for. He handed me a packet and stated that he would check with my insurance and to write down any questions.

Dr. Parvez is very pleasant and very informative. Iqbal, his office manager, is very helpful and eager to work for you. This office is made for easy in and easy out experiences. I went and found out what I needed and left. This works for me. It helps if you research about the procedure first, then ask him questions. Overall, great experience!

AFTER SURGERY, DR. PARVEZ VISITED ME IN THE HOSPITAL AND WAS VERY HELPFUL AND KIND.

Six months after surgery, I had to have my gallbladder removed. Dr. Parvez was so helpful and kindly scheduled an emergency outpatient surgery and I was home the same evening. I was back to wrk in four days and have no scars except for two very tiny slits from the Lap procedure. I feel super and am very greatful for his expertise and kindness.

Truthfully at first I didn't think he liked me...don't know why except that I smoked..lol
After my second visit our communication was a lot better and he talked to me more. I then begin to like and trust him.
I think he has a very good office staff. I gave them my insurance cards and that is all I did. I was approved right away.
I truly like him now. People going should ask questions and he will gladly answer.
The aftercare is explained well in a phamplet given at pre-op.
He checks you out and then has tests performed that he thinks are needed. I had a chest x-ray, EKG, and ultrasound on my heart.
I also did the sleep study. That was all the information he required except for me to stop smoking..He said he wouldn't do the surgery if I continued to smoke.
I would rate him as a very good doctor.
I think surgical competence is by far the most important and he was very nice to me at the hospital also.

I WAS VERY NERVOUS AT FIRST AND DID NOT FEEL WELL INFORMED,BUT AFTER THE FIRST CONFERANCE I FELT VERY COMFORTABLE AND KNOW I HAVE CHOOSEN THE BEST SURGEON.HIS OFFICE STAFF WAS GREAT THEY DID EVERYTHING,IJUST GOT A CALL AND THEY SAID I WAS APPROVED AND SCHELDULED MY SURGERY.HE SEEMED VERY BLUNT AND THIS MADE ME UNCOMFORTABLE.BUT QUICKLEY I BECAME COMFORTABLE/ DR, PARVAZ IS VERY UP FRONT WHICH CAN BRING YOU TO TEARS AT FIRST,BUT WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT WHAT HE IS SAYING YOU HAVE TO REALIZE THE POINT HE IS COMING FROM MEDICALLY,I MEAN HE RIGHT ITS NOT A MIRACLE IF YOU DONT CHANGE YOUR LIFE AND HOW YOU EAT AND LIVE.HE IS WONDEEERFUL.
